Yes, Saugerties Bed and Breakfast at B&B Tamayo is still esteemed today for its array of mouth-watering dishes that made Cafe Tamayo legendary in the Village of Saugerties.
James is a 1981 graduate of the Culinary Institute of America who has worked in a variety of fine hotels and restaurants, including the White Hall Hotel in Chicago and The Plaza Hotel in NYC. One of the highlights of their careers was to be invited to participate in two dinners at the James Beard House in NYC.
Together, James and Rickie Tamayo began their successful journey as the proprietors of Cafe Tamayo in Saugerties over 25 years ago. As early advocates of the Farm to Table movement, they also founded the Saugerties Farmers Market. Their Signature breakfast represents their philosophy of using locally sourced ingredients, prepared with great care.
Dinner Parties & Cooking Classes
In 1987, Cafe Tamayo was opened and for the past 25 years they have been creating menus and cooking dinners in their highly regarded restaurant in the Hudson Valley.
James and Rickie Tamayo designed a beautiful dining room made to accommodate dinner parties for 8 – 10 people. The menu is created especially for you and features the freshest local ingredients possible. Perfect for celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, or any special occasion where food and conversation will be the focus of your evening.
Saugerties Bed and Breakfast at B&B Tamayo has also continued the tradition of cooking classes. These classes consist of a four course menu that is prepped and cooked in real time. At the end of the class, participants can sit down to enjoy the meal that has been prepared during the class. *Private cooking classes can also be arranged.
